MG eZS 

This electric SUV was launched in April this year and MG claims to get the Indian market flooding with this electric car by the end of 2019 or early 2020. The vehicle claims to have cutting-edge technology with a range of 300 km on a single charge. It will run on a lithium-ion battery. The car will be assembled in India, although the specifications are yet to be revealed. 

Nissan Leaf

Nissan Leaf might hit the Indian markets by next year. Abroad, this car is the most sought after electric vehicle that can run easily on the highways. It is expected to be launched in India between 30 to 40 lakhs. It comes with a 40-kilo watt-hour battery that makes it run up to 400 km on a single charge. The electric car takes around 8 to 16 hours to get fully charged. 

Audi e-trona

Among the new electric cars in India, Audi e-trona will the first-of-its-kind fully electric SUV. It is expected to be priced higher than Rs. 1.50 crores. On a full charge, the vehicle can run up to 400 km. The car has two electric motors, with one on each axle. The car claims to touch a top speed of 200 kmph. The peak torque output of the e-trona is 561 Nm.

Jaguar I-Place

The first electric SUV from the company, the Jaguar I-Place took around 4 years to complete. There are two permanent magnet electric motors at the front and rear axle. The maximum torque is 696 Nm. The car has an AWD system and a range of 480 km on a single charge.

Mahindra KUV100 Electric

When it comes to electric mobility, Mahindra tops the charts. The company confirmed to launch the electric equivalent of its KUV100 by 2019. The specifications are not revealed yet, but the car is expected to have a torque of 120 Nm. It might launch at a price of around Rs. 10 lakhs and promises to be the most affordable electric cars 2019. 

Electric cars in India have seen rapid development in 2019 and the roads in the next few years are expected to get dominated by these to counter the soaring fuel prices.
