A Brief History And Evolution Of Electric Cars

Electric cars’ history is much longer. It is very old then you think. In this article, we are going to talk about the evolution of the Electric vehicle. The main form of transport was still the horse at the beginning of the 20th Century. But because of the industrial revolution, there was an increase in the income of many people. And the available technologies started taking newer forms of transport, as some of the experimentation had begun. In the beginning, steam, petrol, steam, and electrical versions were available in the market. At this time, steam, technology was, generally trusted and understood by the public. The steam technology was very popular at that time.

There have been many examples of ‘the first car’ throughout history. Here are some of the more important ones, namely:

Nicholas Joseph Cugnot, Dampfwagen is, considered the first automobile. It was in the form of a tractor. But the definition of a car, according to the oxford dictionary, is that a road vehicle that is powered by an internal combustion engine. The definition also says that it should contain four wheels and is capable of carrying a small number of people. Around 1880 Siegfried created the first two-cycle and later four-cycle engines. The later models of his car also contained clutch, brake, and steering. Hence, you can consider Siegfried as the first man to invent the electric car.

Otto, Diesel, Benz, And Ford

Nikolaus Otto developed the four-stroke engine in 1862 that is still prevalent today. Rudolf Diesel developed the diesel engine in 1893. Later, Karl Benz designed the ‘world’s first production vehicle’ in 1886. This work by Karl Benz was like a revolution. Early in the 1990s, the Ford Model T was, developed.

Who Made The First Electric Car Electric Cars History?

Same as for the combustion cars, there was no specific inventor of electric cars. With the discovery of electricity, the experiment for electric vehicles begins. A Hungarian inventor named Anyos Jedlik in 1828 developed an electrical motor. Thomas Davenport built a small model of electric vehicles. This electric vehicle was capable of running on a circular, electrical, and short track. The first lead-acid battery was, developed in the year 1859 by a French Physicist named Guston Plante Faure.

Electric cars are one of the futuristic approaches by many companies, as we all know that petrol cannot last forever. Thus, we have to find other better ways of keeping our transport system active. The next-generation cars are Electric cars. Electric vehicles are the next step innovation taken by many automobile industries.

In the last few years, many companies have tried to make Electric vehicles such as Nissan leaf to Tesla model X. There are many more big steps taken by many car companies, but we have to still make some more effort in this direction.

Some of the Electric cars are as follows:

  • Tesla Model Y
  • Ford Mustang Electric
  • Audi Q4 e-Tron
  • Audi e-Tron GT
  • Seat El-Born
  • Lotus type 130

The above-given names are of some of the upcoming Electric cars. These cars have great features and will be very useful.
